Back to the river

A hand from the riverbank

Aiming, connecting or finding your next challenge? Start here.

How do I aim?

Choose a rock, pull the loaded rock back, then release. A longer pull reaches farther. Adjust direction with your pull and use the dotted flight path and your last splash to refine the next shot.

Practice gives you time to learn. Free Guides show an exact landing aid. Aiming controls provide an alternative to dragging the slingshot.

Where are the solo challenges?

Choose Play Solo for the canoe duel, River Trail and River games. Try Pick Your Points, the daily river, knock-on targets or a River Cup. Practice has the introductory lessons and target range.

Your local bests, medals and earned canoe colours are saved on the device. The game does not promise cloud recovery of that progress.

How do two people play nearby?

Open the game on both devices and keep Wi-Fi enabled. Choose Play Nearby. One person chooses Host nearby, and the other chooses Join nearby. Allow Local Network access on both devices.

Compare the code shown on each device. Confirm only if both codes match. The host can choose the friend game before pairing. Nearby is designed for local play without internet.

How do friends play online?

Choose Play Online and the friend game. Both players need an internet connection and Game Center. Use two distinct players and invite your friend through the Game Center sheet.

Friend play is invite-only. It does not search for a random opponent. Cancel the connection flow to return to Solo or Practice.

A connection stopped working

For Nearby, check that Wi-Fi is on and Local Network access is allowed in the device's Settings for Tip My Canoe. Keep both games open. Leave the interrupted game and pair again if needed.

For Online, check internet and Game Center access on both devices, then invite again. An interrupted connection should not award a win. Automatic recovery of an interrupted match is not currently promised.

Can I swap sides or stop sounds?

Open Settings for sound, haptics and the left-handed sling option. The slingshot starts on the right. In horizontal layouts you can swap the river and deck sides. Free Guides and alternative aiming controls are available in play.
